{"id":83260,"date":"2024-03-10T18:01:34","date_gmt":"2024-03-10T07:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/total-fire-ban-issued-for-labour-day\/"},"modified":"2024-03-10T18:01:34","modified_gmt":"2024-03-10T07:01:34","slug":"total-fire-ban-issued-for-labour-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/total-fire-ban-issued-for-labour-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Total Fire Ban issued for Labour Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The Country Fire Authority (CFA) has announced a Total Fire Ban (TFB) for the South West region tomorrow (Monday 11 March).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Tomorrow&#8217;s conditions will be hot and dry across the state with temperatures expected to be in the mid to high 30s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Severe heatwave conditions continue to persist and are expected to ease on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Elevated fire danger will be driven by moderate northerly to north-westerly winds across Victoria.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A Total Fire Ban means no fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight from 12.01am to 11.59pm on the day of the Total Fire Ban.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">CFA acting chief officer Garry Cook said community members should be aware of the fire danger throughout the long weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWith the predicted hot and dry northerly winds and high temperatures across the South West, the Fire Danger Rating has reached extreme and communities should continue to remain aware and be prepared,\u201d Mr Cook said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIf you are anywhere in the South West region, no fire including any campfire can be lit on a day of Total Fire Ban.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe ask all members of the community to please cooperate and abide by the Total Fire Ban requirements as we move through another day of very high to extreme fire danger across much of Victoria.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Victorians can find out more about the conditions applicable on a day of Total fire ban on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfa.vic.gov.au\/\">CFA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">For more information on what you can and can&#8217;t do visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfa.vic.gov.au\/warnings-restrictions\/fire-bans-ratings-and-restrictions\/can-i-or-cant-i\">Can I or Can&#8217;t I page<\/a> on the CFA website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Victorians should also make sure they have access to more than one source of information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">They include:<br \/>\n<span class=\"s1\">&#8211;<\/span> ABC local radio, commercial and designated radio stations of Sky News<br \/>\n<span class=\"s1\">&#8211;<\/span> The VicEmergency App<br \/>\n<span class=\"s1\">&#8211;<\/span> The VicEmergency website <span class=\"s2\">www.emergency.vic.gov.au<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\">&#8211;<\/span> The VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226<br \/>\n<span class=\"s1\">&#8211;<\/span> CFA or VicEmergency Twitter or Facebook<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Country Fire Authority (CFA) has announced a Total Fire Ban (TFB) for the South West region tomorrow (Monday 11 March).
