{"id":83293,"date":"2024-03-14T08:01:26","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T21:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=83293"},"modified":"2024-03-13T16:14:41","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T05:14:41","slug":"jet-add-second-show-in-torquay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/living\/jet-add-second-show-in-torquay\/","title":{"rendered":"Jet add second show in Torquay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jet have announced they are extending their tour celebrating the 20th anniverary of Get Born tour with more dates around Australia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New towns and cities have been added to the list, including two shows at the Torquay Hotel in May.<\/p>\n<p>The first show sold out within minutes of tickets being released, so a second performance jad been added at the Torquay venue.<\/p>\n<p>The band will play the entirety of the <em>Get Born<\/em> album, revisiting some of their greatest hits including &#8220;Are You Gonna Be My Girl&#8221;, &#8220;Rollover DJ&#8221;, &#8220;Look What You\u2019ve Done&#8221;, and many more.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Get Born<\/em> was a rare and unique moment of total planetary alignment where we somehow managed to capture lighting in a bottle,\u201d Jet vocalist and guitarist Nic Cester said.<\/p>\n<p>Released in 2003, <em>Get Born<\/em> won six ARIA Awards and was one of the top five highest-selling Australian rock albums, they were also introduced into the 2013 ARIA hall of fame in November last year.<\/p>\n<p>Jet formed in Melbourne in the late &#8217;90s, made up of Cester, his brother Chris Cester, Cam Muncey and Geelong&#8217;s Mark Wilson.<\/p>\n<p>They disbanded in 2012 before reucoming back together in 2017 where they played with Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band on their sold-out Australian tours.<\/p>\n<p>Internationally, the quartet toured with the Rolling Stones, Oasis and Kings of Leon, as well as playing Japan\u2019s Fuji Rock Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The tour begins in Torquay on May 9 and May 10 before heading around the country.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/livenation.com.au\"><strong>livenation.com.au<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jet have announced they are extending their tour celebrating the 20th anniverary of Get Born tour with more dates around Australia.
