{"id":83320,"date":"2024-03-16T04:00:57","date_gmt":"2024-03-15T17:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=83320"},"modified":"2024-03-16T10:22:49","modified_gmt":"2024-03-15T23:22:49","slug":"annual-easter-art-show-to-showcase-hundreds-of-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/annual-easter-art-show-to-showcase-hundreds-of-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual Easter art show to showcase hundreds of works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARTISTS from across the Bellarine will display their works over the Easter Weekend as part of one of the longest-running art expos in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The annual Bellarine North Rotary Club Easter Art Expo is back this year, with more than 450 paintings from more than 100 artists will take over Christian College&#8217;s Hall in Drysdale from March 30 to March 31.<\/p>\n<p>Art expo committee member Ken Withers said the expo will enter its 45th year and will include exhibitions from the Bellarine Camera Club for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The expo attracts a wide audience of art lovers and investors from Melbourne, Geelong, and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is professionally curated and presents works of various painting genres from traditional through to contemporary works.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The expo committee will also display a special exhibition &#8216;Our Stories for Change&#8217;, a lived experience art exhibition created for the 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 518px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/03\/Picture2_23017.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"518\" height=\"346\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Bellarine North Rotary Club Easter Art Expo is back for a 45th year.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit displays artworks created by women in the community who have been impacted by sexual and family violence.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In addition to the funding raised, the art show contributes to the local community at other levels,&#8221; Mr Withers said. &#8220;Rotary continues to support and encourage artistic creativity and art appreciation for both the Bellarine and Geelong communities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our club is active in our local community, internationally and in Rotary projects.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Further, it provides opportunities for other community groups to participate and raise money for their own needs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All expo items are for sale and is open to the public from 10am to 4pm on both days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ARTISTS from across the Bellarine will display their works over the Easter Weekend as part of one of the longest-running art expos in the region.
