THE Bellarine Peninsula is set for an enhancement of its boating facilities with the commencement of the Clifton Springs Boat Harbour upgrade.<\/p>\n
The project will see the addition of 30 car-trailer-unit spaces and an asphalt carpark seal, aimed at improving the experience for recreational boating, yachting, fishing, and offshore diving enthusiasts.<\/p>\n
Funded by the Victorian Government through the Better Boating Victoria Program and a Boating Safety and Facilities Program grant, alongside a contribution from the Commonwealth Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI), the upgrade seeks to cater to the Bellarine’s significant boating community.<\/p>\n
Federal member for Corangamite Libby Coker said the harbour was a key access point to the natural beauty of Corio Bay and was important to the local community.<\/p>\n
“Anyone who knows Clifton Springs will understand just how important boating is to the local community for work, recreation, and for driving tourism throughout the North Bellarine,” Ms Coker said.<\/p>\n
“Investing in community infrastructure programs like the LRCI ensures we can provide a safe and functional space for the community to come together and do something they love.”<\/p>\n
With Geelong and the Bellarine housing the largest concentration of registered vessels in Victoria, the upgrade will significantly enhance the infrastructure at one of the region’s most frequented harbours.<\/p>\n
State member for the Bellarine Alison Marchant said The Bellarine was the envy of many other coastal regions she excited to see this next stage of the upgrade commence<\/p>\n
