GEELONG footy fans and the general public got a taste of what Bellarine residents have been lucky enough to enjoy for the last 18 months.<\/p>\n
The first two of their footy ferry trials are now completed, and with the encouraging numbers, they are cruising ahead with more services in the coming months.<\/p>\n
The next two games are in May, both blockbuster games with the Geelong vs Collingwood on May 13 and Geelong vs Essendon on May 19.<\/p>\n
Both games are being played at the MCG, and with Port Phillip Ferries\u2019 recent move to Harbour Esplanade, it\u2019s really easy to jump on a tram or walk over to Southern Cross for the transfer.<\/p>\n
The first two services took just over 100 minutes, direct from Geelong, and the trip proved popular with many football fans.<\/p>\n
There was a sea of blue and white on board with other brave opposition fans jumping on as well.<\/p>\n
Most people took a return trip to and from the game, and it wasn\u2019t just footy fans on board.<\/p>\n
Port Phillip Ferries would love to see Geelong become a permanent destination in the future, and these footy ferries are proving to be a great barometer to gauge people\u2019s interest.<\/p>\n
With just under 300 people on the Easter Monday service from Geelong, Port Phillip Ferries are urging people to pre-book their tickets online via their website.<\/p>\n
Each ticket offers a guaranteed a seat, a magnificent view and a caf\u00e9 to enjoy on the way. They also expect to have a liquor licence approved in the near future.<\/p>\n
All Portarlington to Docklands services remain in place, travelling every day of the year with two return services per day.<\/p>\n
The Easter weekend was a great indicator that the rest of the holidays should show some good numbers over this period.<\/p>\n
