OCEAN Grove photographer Josh Lange has captured world champion surfer Mick Fanning being chaired up the beach after his loss at the Rip Curl Pro last week.<\/p>\n
The event at Bells Beach was Fanning\u2019s last event as a full-time competitor in the top flight of the World Surf League (WSL) \u2013 he finished in second place.<\/p>\n
The 16-year-old said his photo highlighted that winning wasn\u2019t everything and how much joy surfing brought to people.<\/p>\n
Josh got into photography about four years ago after growing up around the coast and surfing from the age of about 10.<\/p>\n
\u201cI started to appreciate the significance and beauty of the waves I was surfing and wanted to freeze the moments when all elements of nature came together,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think my passion for surfing has really driven and influenced the way I take photos.\u201d<\/p>\n
Josh said he loved capturing all aspects of surfing from the waves, people, environments and the joy it brought to everyone.<\/p>\n
