GEELONG’S AFLW side will be without one of their key rucks for at least the next season.<\/p>\n

Geelong has moved 182cm ruck Olivia Fuller to its inactive list for the 2024 AFLW Season, with the three-season player pursuing a career outside of football as a Royal Australian Air Force firefighter.<\/p>\n

The club’s assistant general manager of football Brett Johnson said the Cats were in full support of Fuller’s decision.<\/p>\n

“Liv has been an invaluable presence in our AFLW program over the past three years, and we fully respect and stand by her decision to pursue a significant new chapter in her life outside of football.<\/p>\n

“We extend our heartfelt best wishes to Liv as she ventures into her new career path, and she will forever remain a cherished member of the Cats family.”<\/p>\n

The Cats have an open spot on their Primary List ahead of the 2024 season as a result of Fuller’s move to the inactive list.<\/p>\n

The 2024 AFLW pre-season begins in just over a week’s time on June 3, while the home-and-away season is unofficially slated to begin on the last weekend in August.<\/p>\n

Fuller only played a pair of AFL games in 2023 before suffering a season-ending injury to the medial ligament in her right knee at training.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
