BELLARINE Bayside is on the hunt for a new chief executive officer.<\/p>\n
The not-for-profit’s currently serving chief, Bruce Elliot, announced late last month that he had made the decision to retire and would be stepping down from the top job later this year.<\/p>\n
Mr Elliot was first appointed to the role in 2020 following an extensive career in the public sector.<\/p>\n
His previous postings include senior positions with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Army.<\/p>\n
“After a lot of consideration, and 20 years working in senior leadership roles, I have decided that it is time for me to retire,” he said in a statement.<\/p>\n
He said he had “thoroughly enjoyed” his time with the organisation.<\/p>\n
“The organisation has a fantastic culture, made possible by the support and passion of the staff and committee members.”<\/p>\n
“It has been incredibly rewarding to be part of the work that Bellarine Bayside does, whether through our core day-to-day activities or delivering on large coastal management projects.<\/p>\n
“Each step of the way, great outcomes are achieved for the coast and communities.”<\/p>\n
While Mr Elliot confirmed he would stay on as CEO until late October, the search for his replacement has already begun with Geelong-based consultancy firm HR4Business managing the recruitment process on behalf of Bellarine Bayside.<\/p>\n
“With five months still left, I intend to keep striving to deliver key outcomes and keep the organisation in a good position to ensure the local communities, coastal visitors and holiday park patrons continue to enjoy our coast and all it has to offer,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
