{"id":88076,"date":"2024-06-06T01:42:27","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T15:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=88076"},"modified":"2024-06-05T21:52:07","modified_gmt":"2024-06-05T11:52:07","slug":"its-time-for-a-laugh-with-jimmy-rees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/living\/its-time-for-a-laugh-with-jimmy-rees\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s time for a laugh with Jimmy Rees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Australian comedian Jimmy Rees has embarked on his<\/strong><em><strong> Let&#8217;s Get Regional<\/strong><\/em><strong> tour, which will land in Geelong later this month. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well known for his role as Jimmy Giggle and hosting <em>Giggle and Hoot<\/em>, the comedian has hit the road with a new comedy show, touring around the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter touring metro cities over the last few years, I couldn\u2019t be more pumped to be bringing a new live show to many local towns around the country, where some I\u2019m visiting and performing or the very first time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Rees is no stranger to performing on the big screen, taking over TVs during his time on <em>Dancing with the Stars<\/em> in 2019, followed by a 10-week stint on Network TEN\u2019s <em>Taskmaster<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>During the pandemic he moved into the social media world, where his following grew.<\/p>\n<p>He was also nominated in the TikTok Awards for Comedy Creator of the Year in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the comedians third Australian tour, he first toured in 2022 with <em>Meanwhile in Australia<\/em>, which led to 34 sold out shows in the major cities.<\/p>\n<p>His latest performance comes off the back of his successful 2023 tour, <em>Not That Kinda Viral<\/em>, where he ended with 24 shows across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s Get Regional started in February and will end in July following a 30-date tour.<\/p>\n<p>Rees will take the stage at Costa Hall on June 22.<\/p>\n<p>For tickets and more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/geelongartscentre.org.au\"><strong>geelongartscentre.org.au<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Australian comedian Jimmy Rees has embarked on his Let&#8217;s Get Regional tour, which will land in Geelong later this month.
