AS the season draws to a close for another year, let\u2019s see how our teams finished up.<\/p>\n
SATURDAY PENNANT<\/strong><\/p>\n Following a weeks delay due to total fire bans in the district, the Torquay Bowls Club had three teams competing in Preliminary finals on the Saturday 24th March.<\/p>\n With heavy rain during Saturday morning, teams from divisions 1, 4 and 9 were uncertain if play was going to commence. But with Grand Finals scheduled for the following day all divisions started play at 1pm with shortened, 21 end matches.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, the results did not fall Torquay\u2019s way on Preliminary final day with all three teams unable to secure a win or a Grand final berth.<\/p>\n Division one lost to Ocean Grove by 22 shots with Alan Sampson\u2019s rink winning by 5 shots.<\/p>\n Division four lost to Leopold by 16 shots with Gary Wakefield\u2019s rink winning by 7 shots.<\/p>\n Division nine lost to Highton by 13 shots with Arnie Rich\u2019s rink winning his rink by 4 shots.<\/p>\n Although ultimate success was not ours this year, well done to all our Torquay Bowls Club teams on a very successful season.<\/p>\n
