BELLARINE residents have had the chance to have their say about the cities, suburbs, towns and regions they want to live in at a special local consultation event.<\/p>\n

Community members participated in a Planning Victoria engagement at Portarlington Football Club last month to outline their visions for the state.<\/p>\n

The engagement was one of 60 pop-up events to be held throughout the state as part of Victoria’s landmark Housing Statement.<\/p>\n

The consultation is open to all Victorians, including young people, culturally and linguistically diverse, people living with disability and those at risk of homelessness.<\/p>\n

Bellarine MP Alison Marchant said the sessions will help grow Victoria and develop it as a state.<\/p>\n

“I encourage locals to have their say on the sort of community we want to live, work, study and play in.”<\/p>\n

Minister for Planning and Suburbs Sonya Killkenny said the consultation would help deliver a new plan for the state.<\/p>\n

“Building on our landmark Housing Statement, it [the consultations] will set out what our towns, suburbs, cities and regions look like as we get on with building 800,000 new homes over the next decade and millions more into the 2050s.”<\/p>\n

“We’re travelling to all corners of the state to hear from Victorians how we can address important issues like housing, affordability, jobs, infrastructure and sustainability and develop a new vision for the state.”<\/p>\n
