Paul Foster was announced as the Jets’ debut player last week<\/a>, and he will be joined by two-time Commonwealth Games champion Aaron Wilson, Australian Jackaroo Jamie-Lee Worsnop, and coach Matt Flapper.<\/p>\nWilson has dominated the world stage over recent years, and his BPL experience with the Sydney Lions will make him a key asset for the team.<\/p>\n
“Joining a new franchise is always a thrilling challenge, I have loved my time with the Sydney Lions but now a new opportunity presents,”\u00a0 Wilson said.<\/p>\n
“The BPL is an incredible competition, and I am looking forward to teaming up with Paul and Jamie-Lee and the rest of the team to make this inaugural event one to remember.”<\/p>\n
Originally playing for Cabramatta in New South Wales, Worsnop made her debut for Australia in 2022 and has made 43 international appearances.<\/p>\n
“It’s a dream come true to compete at this level, and I can’t wait to represent the Geelong Jets,” Worsnop said.<\/p>\n
“The support from Ocean Grove Bowling Club has been phenomenal, and I am grateful for the guidance and encouragement I’ve received.”<\/p>\n
Flapper is a former Australian representative, and the general manager of bowls development at Ocean Grove Bowls Club.<\/p>\n
“What an opportunity; I am thrilled to be involved with such a talented team,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Our roster is filled with exceptional players but more importantly great people who will be terrific ambassadors for the Geelong Jets, and I am eager to see what we can achieve together, it’s going to be thrilling to sit rinkside watching these three strut their stuff,” Flapper said.<\/p>\n
“This appointment aligns perfectly with our club’s vision of competing with the nation’s best.<\/p>\n
“We are committed to excellence and are excited by representing the Geelong region on the biggest of stages.”<\/p>\n
The Geelong Jets have two more players to announce for their side in the BPL, the showpiece television and spectator event for Australian lawn bowls.<\/p>\n
