{"id":9020,"date":"2018-04-18T09:54:59","date_gmt":"2018-04-18T09:54:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=9020"},"modified":"2018-04-20T08:55:32","modified_gmt":"2018-04-20T08:55:32","slug":"seagulls-add-another-win-to-battle-tally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/seagulls-add-another-win-to-battle-tally\/","title":{"rendered":"Seagulls add another win to battle tally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BARWON Heads has cemented its place at the top of the BFL ladder after taking out the Battle of the Bridge against Ocean Grove at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The Seagulls beat the Grubbers by 21 points in wet and windy conditions at Howard Harmer Oval on Saturday, winning 12.6 (78) to 8.9 (57).<\/p>\n<p>It was the 104th time the teams came face to face for the rivalry match.<\/p>\n<p>Barwon Heads now remains the only undefeated side on the BFL ladder with 12 points, followed closely by Ocean Grove, which has one loss now and eight points.<\/p>\n<p>The Seagulls have won the last eight meetings between the two teams.<\/p>\n<p>The last time they met was in Round 14 2017, when Barwon Heads won 10.19 (79) to Ocean Grove 7.12 (54) at Howard Harmer Oval.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in Round 1 of the 2018 Epworth Senior Women\u2019s competition, Ocean Grove beat Barwon Heads by 61 points at Howard Harmer Oval on Sunday, winning 9.10 (64) to 0.3 (3).<\/p>\n<p>Geelong Amateur will take on Barwon Heads at Queen\u2019s Park this Saturday at 2.10pm, while Ocean Grove battles Newcomb at Ray Menzies Oval at 5.10pm.
