ENTRIES are now open for the fourth annual Queenscliff Arts Prize and all eyes are on making it the biggest one yet.<\/p>\n

The art extravaganza will light up the Queenscliff Pier from December 2024 to April 2025, giving artists from across the country the chance to showcase their best works.<\/p>\n

Artists are invited to enter up to ten categories, including portrait, mixed media, digital art, print, photography and landscapes.<\/p>\n

Exhibition curator Chris Macleod said he was hoping to attract close to 200 submissions this year.<\/p>\n

“We are feeling really optimistic about the prize this year, with plenty of our past participants set to load up again and many others expressing their interest for the first time.<\/p>\n

“We hope it’ll be the biggest one yet. If we can get to 150 entrants with 200 entries, we will be thrilled.<\/p>\n

“In the past it’s been floating around the 100-150 mark, but we feel there’s a good chance it will grow this year.”<\/p>\n

This year, all artworks will be produced on canvas and sealed between two clear sheets.<\/p>\n

“It’s the way we’ve been doing it over in Rosebud and South Melbourne for the sister exhibitions over there and its truly been a winner.<\/p>\n

“We’ve had it on the aluminum panels in the past, but the canvas with the sheets just provides such a good clear look.<\/p>\n

“We think it’s also more of a gallery experience having it protected behind the glass so to speak.”<\/p>\n

The Queenscliff Arts Prize will compliment two other forthcoming exhibitions in South Melbourne and Rosebud in early 2025.<\/p>\n

Mr Macleod said a number of exciting artistic developments are also in the works for the Greater Geelong region.<\/p>\n

Entries for the Queenscliff Art Prize will close at the end of October.<\/p>\n

All participants in Queenscliff will be included without any additional costs in the South Melbourne exhibition.<\/p>\n
