{"id":91965,"date":"2024-08-18T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-17T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=91965"},"modified":"2024-08-18T10:51:54","modified_gmt":"2024-08-18T00:51:54","slug":"golf-club-hands-out-annual-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/golf-club-hands-out-annual-grants\/","title":{"rendered":"Golf club hands out annual grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Clifton Springs Golf Club has handed out more than $12,000 in the latest round of its Community Grant Program.<\/p>\n<p>Recipients gathered at the clubhouse recently to officially receive their cheques from Clifton Springs Golf Club president Michael Scott.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, the club invites local community groups and sporting clubs to apply to the funding pool to put towards existing programs or to fast-track facility improvements.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s recipients, for a total of $12,015, were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bellarine Sharks A.F.C &#8211; $6,000<\/li>\n<li>Leopold Angling &amp; Aquatic &#8211; $4,000<\/li>\n<li>Wombats Wish &#8211; $1,500, and<\/li>\n<li>Bellarine North Rotary Club &#8211; $515.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mr Scott said there were a smaller number of applicants this year than in 2023, but this year&#8217;s recipients were all worthy causes the club was happy to support.<\/p>\n<p>Previous recipients of the fund include Clifton Springs Tennis Club, Drysdale Soccer Club, Clifton Springs Bowls Club, St Leonards Bowls Club, Clifton Springs Community Men&#8217;s Shed and the Wallington Cricket Club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Clifton Springs Golf Club has handed out more than $12,000 in the latest round of its Community Grant Program.
