{"id":93583,"date":"2024-09-15T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-14T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=93583"},"modified":"2024-09-15T15:27:23","modified_gmt":"2024-09-15T05:27:23","slug":"culinary-scene-opens-up-for-spring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/culinary-scene-opens-up-for-spring\/","title":{"rendered":"Culinary scene opens up for spring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE local hospitality scene is ready to blast off with many local establishments opening their doors again in time for the warmer weather.<\/p>\n<p>Venues across the Surf Coast, Bellarine and Geelong are re-opening this month ahead of what promises to be a busy spring and summer season.<\/p>\n<p>Vietnamese-inspired Asian fusion restaurant Pholklore will be opening their third restaurant in Lorne later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Owner Dom Friend said opening a new restaurant in Lorne was incredibly exciting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We got approached by landlords down there about a year ago, and the timing wasn&#8217;t right, however a year on, we revisited it and have decided it&#8217;s all a go.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a fantastic opportunity for us. We&#8217;ve always been very Torquay community based, but we are excited to link up with the local community in Lorne and work with them to see what works best.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve had amazing reception to the news and can&#8217;t wait to get started.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant will be located next to the Lorne Cinema in the same location The Clam had been trading in this year.<\/p>\n<p>In Geelong and the Bellarine, wineries have plenty to offer with the weather warming up.<\/p>\n<p>Data shows about 50 per cent of the six million people who visit Geelong and The Bellarine each year include dining out as part of their time in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Rabbit, Flying Brick Cider Co, Leura Park Estate and Claribeaux are among those looking forward to welcoming guests.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_146120\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-146120\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-146120 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/09\/Untitled-design-2024-09-11T163837.930-1-1024x538.jpg?_t=1726377943\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"336\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-146120\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lyndsay Sharp at Leura Park Estate. Good weather, longer days, people on holidays, weddings, parties, Christmas break ups \u2013 all happy occasions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The influx of visitation to the region is a much anticipated and essential time of year for all in hospitality within our region.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s frenetic but it&#8217;s when we really thrive \u2013 and I don&#8217;t just mean financially. We get the opportunity to facilitate great times, occasions and special memories &#8211; and we love it.
