Photos: PETER MARSHALL<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students and teachers dressed in old uniforms and embraced the history of the school by participating in special vintage games and activities such as elastics, knuckles and elastics.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of historic memorabilia and photos were also showcased to visually document the school&#8217;s journey.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/09\/B07K8872-OriginalBui_74279.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The original building at St Leonards Primary School.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>School principal Melissa Smith said a century and a half of schooling was an incredible feat.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was just an amazing celebration with the whole school and community really buying into it all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Students really enjoyed learning more about the school and how it all came about over the last few weeks. They really respected the school&#8217;s evolution and what it was like learning back then as opposed to the technological world now.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/09\/B07K8781-MelSmith-pr_74340.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Principal Mel Smith chats to the school students.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ultimately, to get 300 people through the school to celebrate is fantastic.
