STEP back in time with a show full of energetic singing and dancing as Luke Alleva takes the stage as The Dancin Man on October 9 in Geelong.<\/p>\n

Inspired by Alleva’s love of Gene Kelly and his passion for musicals, the 70-minute show brings together song and dance with a medley of songs.<\/p>\n

The one man show features music from across the decades with a fresh twist on some of the old classics including “Singing in the Rain”, “It Don’t Mean a Thing if you Ain’t Got that Swing”, “Make ‘Em Laugh” and more.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been in musical theatre in Australia and in London and overseas for the past 25 years, in movies and in stage musicals,” Alleva said.<\/p>\n

“I really wanted to put all the best of the best, as much as I can and cram it all in one show and lots of tap dancing.”<\/p>\n

By bringing together stories from the likes of Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, Alleva hopes to bring their essence to the stage and take the audience back in time.<\/p>\n

The Dancin Man has been performing the show throughout Australia in different theatres and on cruise ships since 2015, with the show evolving and getting bigger and better.<\/p>\n

The performer said he has several favourite parts during the performance, including the “Mr Bojangles” section.<\/p>\n

“I also love when I get the audience to sing and dance along with me.<\/p>\n

“I make them get involved and I get them to do a bit of singing and dancing and they have a lot of fun.<\/p>\n

“I love that because you can breakdown the fourth wall, have fun with the audience and have them sing and dance along.”<\/p>\n

Earlier in the year Alleva was part of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown at the Geelong Arts Centre, in which he played Snoopy.<\/p>\n

“The crowds were absolutely phenomenal and I’m really looking forward to coming back and performing in front of the audiences again,” he said.<\/p>\n
