{"id":94379,"date":"2024-10-06T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-05T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=94379"},"modified":"2024-10-02T20:17:39","modified_gmt":"2024-10-02T10:17:39","slug":"golfers-tee-off-to-support-hawks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/golfers-tee-off-to-support-hawks\/","title":{"rendered":"Golfers tee off to support Hawks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MORE than 90 golfers teed off this week to raise funds for the Drysdale Football Club at its Annual Golf Day.<\/p>\n<p>The event at Portarlington Golf Club attracted golfers of all abilities, from keen competition players to<\/p>\n<p>first timers.<\/p>\n<p>Players had the opportunity to tee off with former Carlton Blues speedster Dennis Armfield, who was the special guest speaker on the day.<\/p>\n<p>Event organiser Greg Scott said the 14th edition of the golf day was one of its most successful yet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was another great day which was well attended and supported by businesspeople and our sponsors.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/10\/461591277_1055522499_68952.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">More than 90 players teed off to support Drysdale Football Club.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The course was in fantastic condition for play and we saw some great players and certainly some poor players!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dennis (Armfield) was a fantastic guest to hear from. His story on his football journey and his work with service organisation Odyssey House was truly inspiring.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He was probably the best speaker we&#8217;ve had over our 14-year history.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Scott said the funds to go back into the club were still being calculated but were estimated it to be in the $5,000 to $6,000 range.<\/p>\n<p>The cash injection will go towards general club revenue and equipment and jumpers across both the junior and senior programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MORE than 90 golfers teed off this week to raise funds for the Drysdale Football Club at its Annual Golf Day.
