{"id":96132,"date":"2024-11-09T17:22:02","date_gmt":"2024-11-09T06:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=96132"},"modified":"2024-11-09T18:12:25","modified_gmt":"2024-11-09T07:12:25","slug":"bellarine-councillors-elected-provisionally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/bellarine-councillors-elected-provisionally\/","title":{"rendered":"Bellarine, Geelong councillors elected provisionally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE new Borough of Queenscliffe and City of Greater Geelong councils have taken shape, with councillors provisionally elected earlier today (Saturday, November 9).<\/p>\n<p>The Victorian Electoral Commission has calculated the results in this year&#8217;s local council election for each of the City of Greater Geelong&#8217;s 11 single-member wards and the Borough of Queenscliff&#8217;s unsubdivided municipality.<\/p>\n<p>Councillors will not be formally elected under the VEC officially declares the results, which will be held for the City of Greater Geelong at Geelong&#8217;s City Hall on Tuesday, November 12.<\/p>\n<p>The successful five candidates for the Borough of Queenscliffe are below, listed in the order they were elected:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Donnie Grigau, with 22.32 per cent of first preferences<\/li>\n<li>Isabelle Tolhurst, with 17.77 per cent of first preferences<\/li>\n<li>Brendan Monahan, with 16.69 per cent of first preferences<\/li>\n<li>Di Rule, with 13.68 per cent of first preferences, and<\/li>\n<li>Helene Cameron, with 7.14 per cent of first preferences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The successful candidates for the City of Greater Geelong are below, listed alphabetically by ward name:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barrabool Hills Ward &#8211; Ron Nelson, with 51.67 of first preference votes<\/li>\n<li>Charlemont Ward &#8211; Emma Sinclair, with 20.87 per cent of first preference votes<\/li>\n<li>Cheetham Ward &#8211; Melissa Cadwell, with 45.26 per cent of first preference votes<\/li>\n<li>Connewarre Ward &#8211; Elise Wilkinson, with 50.02 of first preference votes<\/li>\n<li>Corio Ward &#8211; Anthony Aitken, with 48.19 per cent of first preference votes<\/li>\n<li>Deakin Ward &#8211; Andrew Katos, with 28.01 per cent of first preference votes<\/li>\n<li>Hamlyn Heights &#8211; Eddy Kontelj, with 45.69 per cent of first preference votes<\/li>\n<li>Kardinia &#8211; Stretch Kontelj, with 28.18 per cent of first preference votes<\/li>\n<li>Leopold Ward &#8211; Trent Sullivan, with 56.21 per cent of first preference votes, and<\/li>\n<li>Murradoc Ward &#8211; Rowan D.
