GEELONG fans will see a new face in the hoops in 2025, with the AFL club securing utility Jack Martin as a delisted free agent earlier this month.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old moves to the Cats after playing 54 games across five seasons with Carlton and 97 games at the Gold Coast Suns.<\/p>\n
During his career, Martin has played a variety of roles, anywhere from half back to half forward, while also proving to be a strong midfielder.<\/p>\n
His elite goal sense has seen him kick 133 goals at AFL level, including bags of four goals on five occasions.<\/p>\n
The newest member of the Cats said he couldn’t wait to get stuck into pre-season in anticipation for a huge 2025 season.<\/p>\n
“It’s another chapter in my playing career. It’s a great football club and seems like a fantastic community.<\/p>\n
“There’s no big skyscrapers here or trams, you feel like you’re in the country. Everything is 10 minutes away!<\/p>\n
“Geelong fans get signing, the new grandstand looks amazing, and I can’t wait to run out to a packed house\u00a0in 2025.”<\/p>\n
Cats general manager of football Andrew Mackie said the club was thrilled Martin would don the hoops next season.<\/p>\n
“We are really excited about the prospect of bringing Jack into our football club, he is an experienced player and a quality person.<\/p>\n
“He has already settled into Geelong with his young family, and we look forward to welcoming him into our football program.”<\/p>\n
