{"id":96378,"date":"2024-11-27T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=96378"},"modified":"2024-11-21T10:09:58","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T23:09:58","slug":"music-fundraiser-to-rip-in-for-ocean-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/music-fundraiser-to-rip-in-for-ocean-mind\/","title":{"rendered":"Music fundraiser to rip in for Ocean Mind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LOCAL therapeutic surf charity Ocean Mind is banding the local community together to rock out for a special cause this December.<\/p>\n<p>The organisation&#8217;s inaugural Let It Rip music fundraiser will be held on December 14 at the Torquay Surf Life Saving Club.<\/p>\n<p>The event will raise vital funds to support Ocean Mind in delivering important confidence building programs for young people experiencing mental health challenges and disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Headlining the evening will be the musical prowess of Watty Thompson and his Total Fire Band, intimate songwriter Chitra and Jan Juc rockers Sargent Baker.<\/p>\n<p>Blackmans Brewery, Flowstate and Feed Me Surf Coast will all be on site catering the event.<\/p>\n<p>Ocean Mind fundraising and relationships manager Jack Parsons said he was stoked to be putting on the fundraiser with such epic\u00a0local bands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We love this venue so much &#8211; it&#8217;s such an iconic building right on the water in Torquay and it&#8217;s held some insanely great live music over the years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s exciting to be setting up the first of hopefully many Let It Rip music fundraisers there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At Ocean Mind, we&#8217;re all about riding waves and making a difference,&#8221; Ocean Mind chief executive officer Rachael Parker added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Let It Rip fundraiser is set to be an epic evening of music and good vibes.
