VINTAGE, veteran and classic cars will be showcased at Geelong Waterfront’s Custom Lawn as the Bellarine Historic Vehicle Club’s Static Vehicle Display returns.<\/p>\n

Members of the club will line the lawn with their vehicles on December 1.<\/p>\n

Those heading along can come and go as they please, with free entry and club members on site to answer any questions.<\/p>\n

Club president Jan Clissold said she hoped the community gets enjoyment out of watching the cars of yesterday that are not seen around as much any more.<\/p>\n

“It’s different cars, cars you’ve probably never seen before, you might have seen some in movies, it’s a chance to see how we got around in the old days.”<\/p>\n

The Static Vehicle display has been running for at least the past six years, with the club forming in 2015 and now made up of 55 members ranging from 14 years old to 94 years old.<\/p>\n

Within the club, there about 40 cars, all from different makes and models, with 12 of those to be on display next weekend.<\/p>\n

For members of the club, the event is a chance for them to keep the movement alive, and get involved in the community, sharing their stories about the vehicles.<\/p>\n

The display is an opportunity for people to learn more about the cars from earlier days.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

Club committee member Lachie Jackson said it was a very strong, community focussed event, where many people comng to share their experiences with the cars.<\/p>\n

“What I enjoy is the older folk come and talk to me about how they remember them as children and their folks remember them.<\/p>\n

“You get some really interesting stories and I really admire those, especially the earlier cars, but they seem to gravitate to you.”<\/p>\n

The Static Vehicle Display will run from 10am until 2pm.<\/p>\n
