COMMUNITY members are invited to celebrate the talents of local artisans and discover unique Christmas gifts at tomorrow’s (December 7) Geelong Regional Libraries Arts and Crafts Market Day.<\/p>\n

Saturday’s event will be held at the Belmont, Leopold, Geelong and Torquay libraries and feature over 40 local makers.<\/p>\n

Handmade cards, jewellery and hair accessories, original artworks, crocheted toys, stationery, bowls, bracelets, baskets, blanket, bags and baubles will all be up for grabs.<\/p>\n

Bellarine photographer Irelynn Evans will be showcasing her work at Leopold Library, and said the market would be a wonderful opportunity to grow her profile.<\/p>\n

“I love to do photography; it is a passion of mine.<\/p>\n

“What this market means to me and other artists is that we can share our work with others around the local area. To be a part of the community is a pleasure.<\/p>\n

“I love the idea of allowing younger entrepreneurs such as myself an opportunity to show our work.”<\/p>\n

Geelong Regional Libraries chief executive officer Vanessa Schernickau emphasised the event’s importance in supporting local creativity and community.<\/p>\n

“The Arts & Craft Market Day is a fantastic way to connect with our local makers and pick up something truly unique.<\/p>\n

“It’s all about celebrating creativity, supporting small-scale artisans, and shopping with heart this festive season.<\/p>\n

“I’m looking forward to exploring what’s on offer this year.”<\/p>\n

No bookings are required, and entry is free.<\/p>\n

The event’s locations and times are:<\/p>\n

Belmont Library – 9.30am to 2pm<\/p>\n

Geelong Library and Heritage Centre – 10.30am-2:30pm<\/p>\n

Torquay Library 10am-1pm<\/p>\n
