More than 25 emerging local artists from the Geelong region now have their works on display in Liminal Gallery’s 100+ exhibition.<\/p>\n

Officially opening on Saturday, the group exhibition features bold, large-scale 2D works, each measuring at least 100cm in any direction, which are often excluded from exhibitions because of size limitations.<\/p>\n

Harriet Notaristefano, who owns the gallery with her husband Corey, said the exhibition was unique because of the size of the works and it’s also the first time they’ve selected pieces to be in a group show.<\/p>\n

“It’s obviously a group show, but most artists aren’t given the opportunity to show large work in a group show setting.<\/p>\n

“We had a lot of applications and there was really strong work, it was just different for us to be able to choose what was going in and see all of the artists celebrated.”<\/p>\n

Visitors are encouraged to head into the gallery and explore the wide range of works.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

A diverse range of mediums are on display from oil paintings and photography through to laser cut works and cyanotype.<\/p>\n

Ms Notaristefano said holding the exhibition is a way for the gallery to showcase the enormity of talent in the region and to nurture artists and their professional development.<\/p>\n

Artists were encouraged to enter their works into the exhibition, regardless of their creation date, with the aim of highlighting the impact size brings to visual storytelling.<\/p>\n

“This has something for everyone and it’s all different styles, different mediums and so it doesn’t matter what you like when you’re looking at artwork, I think that really stands out in this exhibition,” Ms Notaristefano said.<\/p>\n

Each artist’s individual style is reflected, with the gallery dedicated to emerging artists and pushing the boundaries of contemporary art.<\/p>\n

Liminal gallery encourages visitors to head in and explore the dynamic and diverse works on display.<\/p>\n
