GEELONG will face Essendon in the first match of the 2025 AFL preseason.<\/p>\n
The two Victorian clubs will clash at GMHBA Stadium on Tuesday, February 25 to kick off the AAMI Community Series.<\/p>\n
It will mark the second straight year and the third time in five years Geelong and Essendon have met in a practice match.<\/p>\n
Cats fans will be hoping to get their first glimpse of star recruits Bailey Smith and Jack Martin as well as its seven new draftees.<\/p>\n
AFL head of strategy and scheduling Josh Bowler said they were pleased to be presenting the matches in anticipation for the 2025 season.<\/p>\n
“The 2025 AAMI Community Series is a great opportunity for fans to get their first look at their teams for the season.<\/p>\n
“We’re looking forward to seeing thousands of supporters get behind their clubs in what will be a great spectacle for the whole family.”<\/p>\n
All AAMI Community Series matches will be broadcast live on Foxtel and Kayo.<\/p>\n
The Cats v Dons game will kick off at 7.10pm.<\/p>\n
