THE Potato Shed has launched its season program for the year ahead, promising 12 months of world-class performances that will captivate audiences of all ages.<\/p>\n

The multi-arts venue, located in Drysdale, will host a diverse range of shows next year, spanning theatre, comedy, operate and live music.<\/p>\n

The season will begin with a solo show by singer-songwriter Georgia Fields, as part of the Potato Shed’s relaxed and outdoor “Summer Series”.<\/p>\n

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic basket and blanket to enjoy Fields’ complex and ethereal musical arrangements as the sun sets.<\/p>\n

Americana on the Bellarine is also set to make its return in February, bringing together some of the region’s best blues, roots, country, folk, rock and gospel songwriters and performers for an outdoor concert under the stars.<\/p>\n

Comedy lovers can look forward to Geraldine Quinn’s hilarious and poignant show The Passion of St Nicholas, while theatre enthusiasts will be drawn to the inspiring tale of Alice Anderson \u2013 the trailblazing founder of Australia’s first all-women mechanics workshop \u2013 in Garage Girls.<\/p>\n

For families, the school holiday program offers a variety of interactive and engaging performances, including the whimsical Polite Mammals<\/em> and slapstick puppetry show Fritz<\/em> and Cinderella Spinderella<\/em>, a fairytale reimagined.<\/p>\n

Tuesday mornings are also covered next year with the Morning Showtime from 10.30am, with 11 shows reliving the songs and stories of legendary artists scheduled.<\/p>\n

Cr Rowan Story said the Potato Shed has a stellar reputation for supporting Australian performing arts and bringing great entertainment to the Bellarine.<\/p>\n

“The 2025 season programme offers something for everyone to enjoy and will attract visitors from outside of Greater Geelong,” he said.<\/p>\n

At its meeting earlier this month, the City of Greater Geelong celebrated the Potato Shed’s highlights over the last financial year.<\/p>\n

Cr Elise Wilkinson said the venue continued to punch about its weight, with almost 100,000 visitors, including 30,000 students and more than 45,000 community groups, visiting over the past year.<\/p>\n

She praised the efforts of the Potato Shed’s dedicated team of 19 volunteers who have collectively worked almost 750 hours across 90 events.<\/p>\n

“Things cannot happen without volunteers in our community, and they must be applauded,” Cr Wilkinson said.<\/p>\n
