THE 40th instalment of the Bodyboarding Victoria 2025 Triple Crown and State Titles series will return to the state, with round one to take place at Barwon Heads’ 13th Beach.<\/p>\n

Presented by Bodyboarding Victoria, between 50 to 60 riders will take to the waves on February 8 and 9 as they battle it out to secure a place in the series and the national team.<\/p>\n

Divisions will be made up of participants ranging in experience from beginners and those getting back into the sport through to the veterans and professional level.<\/p>\n

Bodyboarding Victoria secretary Adam Williams said it’s great to have a Triple Crown back in Victoria.<\/p>\n

“What we want people to really get out of it is to just see bodyboarding in its purest form and know it can be everything from fun, going down to the beach with family, to what potentially could be showcased in the event, something high level.”<\/p>\n

Open to anyone with a surfing Victoria or equivalent membership, the competition will be made up of around five divisions from across men’s and women’s age groups.<\/p>\n

The titles will follow a contemporary surfing event format with heats and elimination determining who makes it through to the next round, revealing the best score out of 20.<\/p>\n

Mr Williams said 13th Beach has always been a favourite spot for bodyboarding Victoria and is well suited to the sport.<\/p>\n

“[It’s got] fairly consistent waves, offers up a good selection and fairly consistent break and a lot of guys that are competing will be locals around that area, it’s always a consistent spot.”<\/p>\n

The second round of the series will take place on March 15 and 16 in Mornington, followed by the third round on April 12 and 13 in Phillip Island.<\/p>\n

Event organisers encourage the community to head down to the beach and cheer on all the competitors.<\/p>\n
