{"id":99257,"date":"2025-02-09T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-08T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=99257"},"modified":"2025-02-05T21:49:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T10:49:18","slug":"engines-rev-on-the-bellarine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/engines-rev-on-the-bellarine\/","title":{"rendered":"Engines rev on the Bellarine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of hot rods rolled into the Bellarine over the weekend as the Queenscliff Rod Run returned for 2025.<\/p>\n<p>From Friday last week until Sunday, members from several different car clubs had their vehicles on display.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/02\/B07K3959-GodwinZeraf_03881.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Godwin Zerafa and his 1933 Ford hotrod.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by the Geelong Street Rodders, the Rod Run began with a welcome event on the Friday night before the Saturday cruises took place.<\/p>\n<p>Cars cruised across the Bellarine on the Saturday, while some headed to Adventure Park for a family day out before crowds lined Hesse Street on Saturday night for the street parade.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/02\/B07K3943-JasonTarant_03875.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jason Taranto had his 1954 Ford Sunliner on display at the Show and Shine event.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The celebration culminated with the Show and Shine event in Princess Park on Sunday where around 900 cars were on display for the day.<\/p>\n<p>Sub-committee member Gary James said although numbers were slightly down compared to last year due to the heat, it was a great weekend.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was good, everyone was quite happy cruising through, it went really well.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/02\/B07K3986-Mayor-DiRul_03890.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Borough of Queenscliffe Mayor Di Rule presents Zeb Lockyer with the Mayor&#8217;s Choice Award.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All the traders were very happy with the people coming through.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr James thanked all the sponsors and everyone who contributed to the 2025 event.<\/p>\n<p>The Rod Run will return in 2026, taking place from January 30 until February 1.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of hot rods rolled into the Bellarine over the weekend as the Queenscliff Rod Run returned for 2025.
