A burnin’ love for the king
MULTI-award winning Elvis tribute phenomenon Marcus Jackson is set to shake the All Seasons Resort to its foundations.
Jackson is bringing his Elvis to the Extreme show to the venue next month.
Well known for his spookily accurate performances, the former cabaret singer bought his first Elvis-style jumpsuit in 2010.
“It’s been a whirlwind since then, but one of the most rewarding and enjoyable journeys because being able to do this full time, dreams do come true,” he said.
“When you’re so passionate about something and if you can do it for a living, it isn’t really work. You’re doing what you love to do.”
Jackson said the “extreme” title reflects the dynamism he loves to portray to the audience.
“Not extreme as in being disrespectful to the King, it’s just that I’ve got so much energy on stage,” he said.
“You’re doing songs like Suspicious Minds, Patch It Up and these are constant moving numbers. It’s passion. It’s dedication. It’s devotion.
“If you want to represent who you’re paying tribute to in the best light, my motto is if you’re not going to do it justice, don’t do it at all.”
The world-class tribute act encouraged Bendigo locals to “come and see an archive of Elvis Presley’s greatest hits.”
“That’s how we like to portray our show. Who doesn’t love Hound Dog, Teddy Bear, Blue Suede Shoes, Suspicious Minds? They’re all classic songs that people love to hear.”
Catch the Elvis to the Extreme show at the All Seasons Resort on Saturday 17 August. Tickets can be purchased via Oztix.
