A family day out in Mandurang
A COMMUNITY-run festival at Pearce Reserve, Mandurang this Sunday 13 October is set to have something for everyone.
To be held between the hours of 11am and 4pm, the Mandurang Valley Festival will feature food and drinks, kids activities, live music, plus a bunch of market stalls and plenty of other displays.
Kristy Keighran from the Mandurang Valley Events festival subcommittee said the event is about bringing the community together on a nice day in Spring.
“It’s a really great event for everyone,” she said. “You can pop in for a little bit or stay most of the day. For families it’s very good value as well.
“We’ll have various kids activities set up, including Matty Glascott’s petting zoo, and there’ll be an art show too.
“It’s (also) about showcasing our beautiful location in Mandurang. With lots of markets in and around town, we encourage you to drive 10 minutes and you’re in a beautiful landscape, supporting a local community at the same time.”
Ms Keighran said the gold coin donation entry fee will go to local not-for-profit organisations and clubs in Mandurang, Mandurang South and Sedgwick.
“This is a festival that’s for the community by the community, with all funds raised supporting our local groups,” she said.
