BROOKE McMullen will bring her tribute show Dolly: I Will Always Love You to The Capital Theatre Bendigo next month.

The high energy show will include stunning costumes and take the audience on a journey through Dolly Parton’s greatest hits.

McMullen has been performing since she was two and a half years old.

“I practically had to be dragged off stage after my first performance,” McMullen said. “I loved it, the lights, the music and the applause.

“I was born into a horse racing family, but my parents quickly realised it wasn’t for me and put me into a dance class.

“I immediately fell in love and spent the next 15 years learning all styles of dance. A love of singing, acting and musical theatre ensued.

“My first professional performance came when I was 16 in Grease, followed by Hairspray, Blood Brothers, Chicago, Guys & Dolls, Cats and Spamalot.”

McMullen has toured throughout Australia and New Zealand with tributes to Linda Ronstadt and June Carter Cash as well as Parton.

“I have never met Dolly, but I would love it if the stars could one day align and I could get the chance,” she said.

“My show is a tribute to country music royalty; a celebration of the one and only Dolly Parton. She is an incredible lady.”

McMullen said performing is a brilliant way to travel.

“I really enjoy hearing people’s stories and seeing the country. “It’s great to find those special little spots and return hoping they will still be here.

“I was last in Bendigo in 2019. I had a great toastie while I was there and I’m hoping I can find the shop again.”
