Abstract shapes and patterns amaze
AN exhibition of drawn and hand painted geometric artworks by local artist Jacquilyne Smith is open at the Bendigo Visitor Centre’s Living Arts Space.
Meditations in Geometry sees Smith explore the relationship of colour and shape.
This process is said to have allowed her to “subconsciously drift into the memory of a place or time, or simply shut out the noise with stunning results.”
“Come and immerse yourself in this hypnotic exhibition with beautiful drawn and painted geometric artworks,” said acting visitor services centre manager Karly Bingham
“Jacquilyne has shut out all of the noise to create the artworks and you too are invited to immerse yourself in this exhibition.
“They’re calming, colourful works that speak of order, precision and tranquillity when the chaos of the modern world is ever present.”
Meditations in Geometry will be open from 9am to 5pm every day until 4 August.
Works featured at the exhibition can be purchased in person or online.
The unframed acrylic on canvas pieces for sale come in various sizes and are priced between $470 and $1140.
You can find the catalogue on the Uniquely Bendigo website.
If you’re a creative interested in exhibiting in the Living Art Space, expressions of interest are currently open.
Applications to exhibit artwork, design work or craft, hold a performance, or create an installation can be made on the Bendigo Region website.
