RENOWNED chef, restaurateur and cookbook author Yotam Ottolenghi sets sail for the Southern Hemisphere shortly on his An Evening with Yotam Ottolenghi LIVE ON STAGE tour of Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Bendigo foodies will benefit from his culinary knowledge on Saturday 14 February.
In his new show, Ottolenghi will blend live cooking, storytelling and audience interaction in what has been promoted as a “warm, insightful stage event that explores the pleasures and pressures of feeding others”.
During the tour, the Israeli-born Brit, who trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu school in London, said he plans to allow people a glimpse into his world, into how and what he cooks at home, and how his recipes come about.
Each show ends with a “simple and celebratory” finished meal, proving that “pleasing everyone doesn’t mean losing yourself”.
“I’m focusing on a few basic recipes that you need to master, very simple things, which you can then take into different directions and become a better, more confident cook,” he said.
“There’ll be a lot of talking… and some cooking!
“I’ll be sharing my cooking confessions, and exploring how we can all feel more at ease in the kitchen – cooking in a way that suits you, and finding pleasure in food, for yourself and for those around you.
“Bar the jetlag, I can’t wait to be back (and) I’d love to see as many of you as possible.”
Tickets for Ottolenghi’s LIVE ON STAGE tour visit to Bendigo (at the Ulumbarra Theatre) can be purchased on Gotix.
VIP packages are available, which include a signed copy of his 2024 cookbook COMFORT, a tote bag and a tour laminate.
