NEXT weekend’s sprawling three-day Bendigo Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Roadshow is doing things a bit different this year – offering up discounted entry, free onsite parking and exclusive discounts in response to the current squeeze on bank accounts.

Nonetheless, those on the hunt for a caravan, camper trailer, e-bike, camping accessories or the like will have multiple days to look around before they make a purchasing decision.

Roadshow director Jeff Leech said with over 500 caravans to begin with, there will be plenty of price-reduced stock available.

“It’s the biggest show in regional Australia, bigger than any of the others, and what they (the dealers) are doing is running an end of financial year sale,” he said.

“The dealers want to sell, they really want to get rid of their stock because they’re trying to cash up (before) the end of the financial year, of course.

“We’ve got the complete range from $30,000 to $250,000 for a caravan or motorhome, so people will have a good choice.”

Leech said the advantage of the Roadshow is that visitors can browse what’s on offer “all in one spot without touring around a dozen dealers”.

“You can see them all together and you can compare and walk around and say, ‘That’s not good, I don’t like that’ or ‘this one might suit me better here’.

“And of course, they’ll actually build to order as well if you want to pick a bit of this one and a bit of that and put them together.”

The Bendigo Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Roadshow takes place at the Bendigo Showgrounds from 9am to 4pm next Friday 29 May to Sunday 31 May.
