THE Australian Ballet will grace the stage at Ulumbarra Theatre for three performances as part of its yearly regional On Tour program next month.

The performances will include Act III of The Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, plus the Act II pas de deux from Anne Woolliams’ Swan Lake.

They are set to take place at 7.30pm on Friday 5 July, as well as 1.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday 6 July.

There will also be a chance to watch company members rehearsing at midday on the Saturday, and a youth masterclass for local dancers at 4.30pm the same day.

Artistic director David Hallberg said the company is delighted to continue its long-standing tradition of presenting unforgettable experiences to regional communities.

“Through our On Tour program, we strive to touch the hearts and minds of as many people as possible,” he said.

“This year’s repertoire is an exhilarating showcase of classical elegance and modernity that showcases the technical prowess of both the company’s dancers and graduating students at The Australian Ballet School.”

Executive director Lissa Twomey added that through providing a range of opportunities to people of a diversity of backgrounds to connect and participate with dance and ballet, the tour is part of its commitment to “sharing the beauty, joy and unparalleled artistry of our company with communities across Australia.”
