OPINIONS vary, but many would argue that the ’80s was the best decade for music.

If you’re one of them, then a show at The Capital on Saturday 15 June will be right up your alley.

That’s when the Rewind 80’s Band, one of Australia’s most experienced 80s tribute acts, brings its Mixtape Tour to town.

Over three hours and two sets, the band promises the ultimate party.

The set list includes hits from the likes of Duran Duran, David Bowie, Madonna, Wham, A-ha, INXS, Queen, Kate Bush, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Kim Wilde, Guns N’ Roses, and more.

The band’s seven members pay particular attention to accuracy with the music, and combine this with neon, spandex and big hair to make the shows as authentic as possible.

Many artists represented in the show have also given permission for the original filmclips to their songs to be used.

Big hair and big songs are on the agenda for the 1980s-themed show.

The Rewind 80’s Band is made up of Sammy (vocals), Jay Jovi (vocals), Matty Slade (synths and keytar), Cookie (guitar and vocals), Timur (bass), Nick (drums) and Dallas (keyboards, sax and vocals).

Based in Melbourne, the Rewind 80’s Band has been together more than 12 years and performs in theatres, at festivals and other events.

The theatre shows have been part of their work schedule for more than four years, and the band’s current run will see them perform at venues in Rowville, Beaconsfield, Hallam and the Shearwater Resort in Tasmania.

The Bendigo show will start at 7.30pm and will conclude at 10.30pm.

Tickets can be bought through the band’s website, rewind80smixtape.com.au or the Bendigo Venues & Events website at bendigoregion.com.au/arts-culture-theatres.
