IF you love yourself a barbecue you might like to join tens of thousands of committed carnivores on the weekend of 14 and 15 March for the return of Meatstock, which will take over virtually every square inch of the Bendigo Showgrounds for the two-day extravaganza.

As well as barbecue and grilling competitions, low and slow barbecues, butcher wars, demonstrations and barbecue expo, there’s a seemingly never-ending timetable of entertainment on offer to boot.

The live stage on the Showgrounds’ main arena will host US country music stars Chase Rice, Oliver Anthony and Redferrin, as well as a bunch of local talents, including Taylor Moss, Melanie Dyer, The Wet Whistles and Dakota East.

There’s also going to be action aplenty with the highly competitive Better Beer Dad Bod Contest, Beard and Mo Wars, Australia’s Strongest Man and Woman contest, arm wrestling and crowd-favorite Sausage Sizzle Throwdown.

That’s not to mention the Big Rig Rumble featuring some of Australia’s best trucks, a tattoo parlour, fireworks and even heart-in-mouth bull riding!

“Meatstock is a weekend of like-minded music and barbecue-crazed people, with lots of families hanging out, camping together, and enjoying amazing, authentic barbecue, great music, and really fun entertainment,” said festival director Jay Beaumont.

“The energy is amazing!”
