POLARISING former Triple M radio host and comedian Marty Sheargold returns from the wilderness next month, bringing his latest stand-up tour to Bendigo for a run of intimate shows at the Engine Room.

Sheargold, best known to television audiences as a co-star on ABC’s Fisk and a regular panellist on Network Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention?, rose to prominence on The Mick Molloy Show in 1999.

His television career has since included appearances on Russell Gilbert Was Here!, Welcher & Welcher, The Librarians and the multi-award-winning Fisk, which aired from 2021 to 2024.

He has also appeared on the big screen in films such as The Forest and Bad Eggs in 2003, followed by Now Add Honey in 2015.

A long-time presence on Australian radio, Sheargold hosted The Shebang on Triple M from 2003 to 2008 before moving to Nova 106.9’s Drive program, where he remained until 2020. He later returned to Triple M, staying on air until 2025.

Sheargold was axed by Triple M in February last year after making disparaging comments on air about the Matildas women’s national soccer team and women’s sport.

Known for his razor-sharp wit, storytelling prowess and unfiltered takes on life, Sheargold’s latest tour promises a characteristically candid performance.

“As much as I’ve been trying to embrace early retirement – I’m bored sh*tless so I’m going to be the 54 year old man that I am: fun, sexy, charming and humble,” he joked.

“Let’s share moments and memories from my life.

“You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll need a two-hour park.”

Marty Sheargold: The Red Card Tour runs at the Engine Room, in View Street, between Wednesday 11 and Saturday 14 February.

Tickets are available via Gotix.
