Metricon marks more than 10k homes completed in regional Victoria

MORE than ten-thousand regional Victorian families now call a Metricon home their own, with company reaching the milestone of new builds earlier this month.

“At Metricon, we have a proud 45-year history of designing and building innovative, quality homes for every type of home buyer and budget,” said Metricon’s general manager for regional housing Phil Barrett.

“We are committed to designing contemporary homes that continually evolve to meet Australia’s changing lifestyle demands, and we are delighted that more than 10,000 regional Victorian families have now experienced this difference,”

The Whittlesea 25 features a spacious family living area.

Since establishing in regional Victoria in 2004, Metricon has not only built new homes for thousands of families at different stages of life and their home ownership journey but has also created jobs for hundreds of local workers.

“We directly employ more than 290 local team members throughout the regions, together with in excess of 1600 local trades, who are all committed to producing quality homes,” Mr Barrett said.

“By having a local team, we are able to offer a far more personal experience for our customers. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are providing local customer service at every turn to ensure our customers have a great home building experience.”

Metricon’s regional Victorian business is on track to hand over several hundred more homes this year, with the regional market continuing to boom, especially on the back of the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder scheme and city-dwellers desire for a tree or sea change post-lockdown.

“Regional housing is really thriving in 2021,” Mr Barrett said.

“Affordability is a key a factor, but lifestyle also plays an important role with more people keen to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city, have more land to enjoy with their family and to experience the sense of community that regional living can foster.

“We now have more than 90 display homes spanning across Victoria, with 35 of these located in regional areas, as well as three regional offices and Studio M selection centres to make it even easier for those who live regionally to build a home that they will love to live in.

“We are proud to be a part of the regional Victorian community and to support the towns that have shown us so much support since 2004.”
