ST Paul’s Cathedral in Myers Street will tonight host another program of performances in the Candlelight concert series, this time with a Valentine’s Day theme.

The Candlelight: Valentine’s Day Special will take place in two separate 60-minute performances at 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Candlelight is a series of live concerts produced by Fever, a global company designed to ‘democratise’ access to classical music.

Its format of music by candlelight offers what the company claims is a unique musical experience through a diverse selection of programs catering to all tastes.

Concerts are performed by local musicians in iconic venues illuminated by thousands of candles.

A Fever spokesperson said Candlelight concerts draw a broad audience, including those who may never have considered attending a classical music concert.

“Audiences can connect with the masterpieces of composers like Vivaldi, Mozart and Chopin, while also enjoying fresh interpretations of popular hits from artists like Queen, ABBA, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran,” they said.

Tonight’s program will feature Unchained Melody (The Righteous Brothers), Can You Feel the Love Tonight? (Elton John), A Whole New World (Alan Menken), Your Song (Elton John), Tennessee (Hans Zimmer), Out of Africa (John Barry), Love Theme for Nata (Ennio Morricone), Por Una Cabeza (Carlos Gardel), La Vie En Rose (Edith Piaf), Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley), All You Need Is Love (The Beatles), A Thousand Years (Christina Perri), Shallow (Lady Gaga) and My Heart Will Go On (Celine Dion).

Candlelight concerts are held in more than 150 cities around the world.
