MOULD maker, model builder, prototype developer and casting specialist Claire Tennant’s new studio in Kennington officially opens for business tomorrow.
Tennant, who has more than 15 years of experience plying her trade within the film and television industry and fine art world, will be providing, among many other things, life casting services and workshops from the Thompson Crescent address.
One of the plans for her purpose-built, curio and oddity filled space is to offer classes to all and sundry.
“I’m scheduling all of the dates on that now, but I’ll have about five different workshops,” she said.
“Small groups – six people max – either half day, full day or three days.
“I’ll have an artist stream of programs more geared towards people with experience, then I’ll have one for the general public, which will be fun stuff to make – resin jewelry, funky bangles and resin homewares.
“If you’re looking for something to do with your friends on an evening or a weekend and want to try something (unique), then come on down and make some things.
“If there’s something in particular that people want to learn, then they can always ask, I can always put a private workshop together (for one to six people).
“If you’ve got a hen’s night, a professional development or team building (exercise), or you want to treat yourself and learn something that you’ve always wanted to know, I (can) do all of that.”
