LOCAL fans of well-loved Australian singer-songwriter Rick Price can look forward to the man himself visiting Bendigo next Friday as part of his Tamborine Mountain thirtieth Anniversary Album Tour.

The album, released in July 1995, followed up his smash hit debut record, Heaven Knows, which peaked at number three in Australia in 1992 and spent 23 weeks on the charts.

Tamborine Mountain was produced by Price and New York Producer Ben Wisch and featured appearances by Tommy Emmanuel on Foolish Heart and Tina Arena on the duet Trust Me This Is Love.

The album title refers to a picturesque rain forest area located in the Gold Coast Hinterland near Beaudesert where Price grew up.

After the success of the first single River Of Love, which made it to number 18 in Australia, a second single, Bridge Building Man, was released.

This was written as an affectionate salute to his father and grandfather.

Both songs remain in Price’s set list to this day alongside his hits Heaven Knows, Not A Day Goes By and Walk Away Renee.

“Yes – it’s been 30 years since Tamborine Mountain,” he said. “Can you believe it?

“To celebrate, we’re pulling out songs you haven’t heard live in years – and some that have never been played before.

“This isn’t just a tour – it’s a tribute to the past and a love letter to the future.”

The Tamborine Mountain 30th Anniversary Album Tour stops off at the Capital Theatre on Friday 17 October.

Tickets are available on Gotix.
