BILLED as the biggest travelling circus in Australia, the Circus Rio Spectacular will bring a generous portion of razzle dazzle to the Bendigo Showgrounds over ten days from Friday 22 August.

Founded by Yuriy Abrosimov, a Russian theatrics veteran from the Moscow Circus College, Circus Rio debuted in Australia in 2019.

The travelling troupe features internationally acclaimed, world-class Australian and international performers, including acrobat Rou Cyr and freestyle motocross (FMX) stunt rider Brodie Carmichael.

Rou Cyr is renowned for his mastery of the Cyr wheel, an apparatus that consists of a single large ring made of aluminum or steel.

Meanwhile Carmichael, who holds three individual FMX Guinness World Records, stars in the show’s grand finale, performing death-defying motorcycle stunts high above the audience.

Circus Rio is a family friendly, alcohol free event and is suitable for all ages.

Doors open 15 minutes before each show, with two 50-minute halves and a 15-minute intermission.

A canteen will be open before, during and after the show for snacks and drinks including popcorn, slushies, hot dogs, hot chips, nuggets, ice creams and coffee.

The Circus Rio Big Top is an accessible venue with wheelchair access and an accessible toilet.

Companion cards are accepted and guests with wheelchairs or access needs will be seated next to each other ringside stage left.

The Circus Rio Spectacular will reside at the Bendigo Showgrounds from Friday 22 August to Sunday 31 August, with selected days featuring morning and matinee sessions.

Tickets can be purchased on Ticketek.
