A SHOW paying homage to two of the most iconic performers of the late twentieth Century – Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand – is coming to The Capital for one night only on Saturday 1 March.
Sinatra, also remembered as the Chairman of the Board and Ol’ Blue Eyes, gained fame as a crooner in the 1940s and went on to have an incredibly successful career spanning more than five decades.
Meanwhile, Streisand is a multiple Grammy, Golden Globe and Tony Award winner known for her unparalleled vocal range and distinctive, emotive voice.
Show creator Greg Gould, who would be known to many as the runner up in Australia’s Got Talent 2013, will team up with Masha Mnjoyan, winner of The Voice Armenia (2013) and a finalist in The Voice Australia (2020), to deliver the performance.
Gould said the concept “made sense” because their catalogs crossed over, both recording versions of Moon River, Send in the Clowns and My Funny Valentine, and a duet together – I’ve Got a Crush on You.
He said the audience can expect to hear all the classics on the night.
“New York, New York, My Way, Fly Me to the Moon from myself, Somewhere, The Way We Were, Don’t Rain on My Parade from Masha,” he said.
“It’s all about the music, it’s all about the songs and wait until you hear Masha sing – she’s phenomenal,” Gould said.
“She’s got the power, she’s got the poise and I think together we’ll do something really special.”
Streisand & Sinatra takes place on Saturday 1 March at The Capital from 8pm.
Tickets can be purchased on the Gotix website.
