BENDIGO UFS intern pharmacist Katelyn Beattie has been awarded the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) Victorian Intern of the Year Award for 2025.

The award recognises exceptional performance and dedication by an intern pharmacist during their pre-registration year, and Ms Beattie is now in the running for the national Intern of the Year Award, to be announced at the PSA national conference in Sydney in August.

She is said to have stood out among her fellow nominees from across Victoria for her clinical knowledge, commitment to patient care and strong leadership qualities.

Ms Beattie has also played an integral role in supporting the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care throughout the local community.

“I’m incredibly honoured to receive this award,” she said.

“The support from the team at Bendigo UFS has been amazing, and I’ve learned so much during my internship.

“Working in this environment has given me the chance to spend more time with patients, to have meaningful conversations, follow up on care, and be a familiar, trusted face in the community.

“This reminded me of why I fell in love with pharmacy and the kind of pharmacist I aspire to be: someone who puts people at the centre of everything they do.”

Bendigo UFS CEO Nicole Cox said the organisation is thrilled to see Ms Beattie recognised at the state level.

“This award is a testament not only to her hard work, but also to the quality of mentorship and professional development opportunities we aim to provide at Bendigo UFS,” she said.
