LOCAL motorcycle enthusiasts will have extra help keeping their prized possessions in tip-top shape when a unique bespoke motorcycle detailer officially opens in Kangaroo Flat early next month.

Throttle Culture, located at 1/39 Collins Street, will celebrate its launch with a “Grand Opening” on Saturday 2 November from 2pm, with 10 per cent off storewide, a free sausage sizzle, plus performances from musicians Bridie Lynas, Jared Healy and Frankie Bell.

Bendigo businesses such as Empire Harley-Davidson and SF Custom Cycles have donated thousands of dollars worth of prizes for a Motorcycle Show & Shine competition too, with the $10 entry fee per bike to be donated to the Black Dog Institute.

Store owner, expert detailer and “master of gloss” Steven Wilson has been part of the industry for years, but this represents his first establishment dedicated to motorcycles only.

“We do anything from your standard detailing through to full show bike polishing, paint correction and ceramic coatings,” he explained. “We’ve also got a retail space out the front as well, where we sell your higher-end maintenance products such as Angelwax and Invoke.”

A dedicated rider himself, Mr Wilson said the point of his new business is not necessarily just about the bottom line.

“There’s a big family around the bikes community, we all look after each other and it’s about engaging not just as a business but as a culture,” he said.

The Grand Opening of Throttle Culture takes place on Saturday 2 November from 2pm until the early evening.
