On tour to connect with the Bang Fam

March 25, 2024 BY

On the same frequency: Friends and music journalist Myf Warhurst and Zan Rowe are taking their podcast Bang On to the people for a live show that is all about connection, friendship, and having a laugh.

A LIVE production podcast Bang On is going on tour this year with a visit to Bendigo scheduled in April.

Hosted by music journalists and long-standing friends Myf Warhurst and Zan Rowe, the podcast discusses art, music, and culture in an upbeat and conversational format.

The pair created Bang On in 2017 and saw it grow into a community during the years that Australia was in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“For me it was a connection to the outside world at that point because I was living alone and going through some stuff,” said co-host Myf Warhurst.

The podcast has continued to develop as a place for listeners to tune in and feel a sense of connection, with the presenters referring to their audience as the ‘Bang Fam’.

“They might be going through some stuff or have moved cities or towns and don’t know anyone and they say it often feels like they’ve got friends,” Warhurst said.

Warhurst, who grew up in regional Victoria, said she’s excited to bring the podcast to Bendigo to meet their listeners in the area.

“People just love being in a room full of like-minded people who love the podcast but also speak our language and share our ideas and love to have a good laugh.”

Bang On Live will feature de-briefs of the biggest conversations from the week, as well as live answers to audience questions, and the opportunity to interact with the hosts and other members of the audience.

Tickets are now on sale for the 6 April show at Ulumbarra Theatre.
