BELOVED Byron Bay roots-rock singer-songwriter Pete Murray is primed to embark on his biggest ever tour in May, with the million-album selling artist booked to play the Capital in View Street on Saturday 28 June.

He’ll be performing in solo acoustic mode across the extensive 56-date run, supported by country-pop singer Rachael Fahim and Melbourne-based guitarist, singer and songwriter Brett Wood.

Commencing on Friday 9 May in Darwin, Murray will travel across the Northern Territory, Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, the ACT and Western Australia for the close-up shows, with the tour concluding on Sunday 7 September in the Blue Mountains.

“I’ve never done a solo tour in this country before, so it’s been on the cards for a while,” he said.

“I’ve done it overseas and people love it – so it’s about time I did it in my own country.

“There will be some story telling of my songs, my life and career (and) the shows will be very intimate.”

After releasing his debut full length album The Game in 2001, Murray’s breakout second album Feeler (released in 2003) earned him widespread recognition.

With hits including Better Days, Feeler, Opportunity and So Beautiful, his blend of acoustic, rock and folk elements has flourished across the years, including via his most recent full length album Camacho in 2017.
