MUCH-loved Australian actress, singer and musical theatre performer Rachael Beck brings her new production, Both Sides, to the intimate setting of the Bendigo Theatre on Sunday afternoon.
After catching the performance bug at the age of nine, Beck secured her breakthrough role in her late teens as Samantha Kelly in sitcom Hey Dad..! (1991–1994).
She then made guest appearances in a number of popular TV series including Home and Away, GP, Stingersand City Homicide.
However, she is perhaps best known as one of Australia’s premier musical theatre performers over the past three decades, taking leading roles in some of the most beloved musicals of all time.
These include Beauty and the Beast, Les Misérables, The Sound of Music, Cabaret, Singin’ in the Rain and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Her new one-woman recital is billed as a musical exploration of how life “throws us curve-balls and how we learn to grow from them” and draws from an eclectic collection of songs and artists that inspire her, including Grace Kelly.
“I’m so excited to bring you my new show,” she said.
“It will explore both sides of being a mother, both sides of being human and both sides of the entertainment industry, and will be filled with songs that you know and hopefully some that you don’t.
“I’ll see you there!”
Rachael Beck in Both Sides takes place at Bendigo Bank Theatre on the ground floor of The Capital on Sunday from 3pm.
Tickets can be purchased on the Gotix website.
